About
Welcome to C.F. McCarthy’s, a true gem nestled in the heart of Canton, Massachusetts, at 614 Washington St. This charming establishment encapsulates the essence of a traditional Irish pub while offering a diverse menu that excites the palate. With a warm atmosphere and friendly service, it's no wonder that patrons keep coming back for more.
From delightful appetizers like fried pickles to an array of mouthwatering sandwiches, the food here promises to tantalize your taste buds. Customers rave about their experiences, with Jacqueline Kassis noting the “surprisingly yummy” options and Donna B praising the exquisite caprese sandwich—a harmonious blend of fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, aromatic basil, and a finishing touch of balsamic drizzle.
The star of the show might just be the hand-battered fish & chips, which Ryan Mulherin described as fresh and fulfilling, perfectly embodying what one expects from a classic pub dish. The haddock is notably substantial, and when paired with expertly seasoned accompaniments, it makes for a satisfying meal that speaks to both tradition and care in preparation.
For those seeking a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends, Chris P. shares that the buzz of a Friday night adds to the charm, even if a bit loudly. Whether you prefer to sit at the bar or enjoy a meal with friends, the ambience is always inviting, and the service is consistently noted as quick and friendly.
If you’re in the area and considering a culinary adventure, don't overlook the signature nachos, delectable burgers, and the versatile Rico wrap, all of which Brianna Davis enjoyed during her visit from the North Shore. Pair your meal with a refreshing margarita or a locally loved Dorchester Golden Ale on tap to elevate your experience.
C.F. McCarthy’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a hub of flavor, warmth, and community. With every dish prepared thoughtfully and every drink poured with precision, it beckons all food lovers to explore its rich offerings. So next time you find yourself in Canton, make it a point to stop by this exceptional eatery—your taste buds will thank you!

“ I had the capraesa sandwich. It was spectacular. The bread, mozzarella, tomato, and the basil, with balsamic drizzle, is definitely something you must have again. We sat at the bar, and the staff was very pleasant and service quick. ”
“ Had me a nice, fresh, hand battered fish & chips today at this fine establishment on the south shore. This place is the epitome of a classic, traditional Irish pub. “ Heard about how good your food was online and have been planning to stop by for almost a year and finally had a chance to come in. Traveled from the North Shore and not disappointed....We got the Nachos, Burger and Rico wrap. All were so good. Margarita and Dorchester Golden Ale on tap also great. Service and friendliness top notch !! Will definitely be back soon. ”
“ Really great menu and tasting food with late night options. The fish and chips were really well seasoned and the piece of haddock literally weighted a pound. The accompaniments were also flavorful and well prepared. The staff was friendly and the Guinness pour was proper. I ended up going back a second time and had the a pizza which was also really good. The first time I went was a Friday night which was kinda loud but would definitely go back. ”
“ We ordered the mango habenero wings and a bacononion pizza. The food was phenomenal! The wings were the best wings I've ever had in my life and the pizza was also delicious. The bartender was also very friendly. Overall a great late night dining experience. HIGHLY recommend ”
“ CF McCarthys never disappoints. From the minute you walk in you are greeted by Felix who always accommodating to all guests who enter. Brittany behind the bar is always pleasant and knows how to pour a Guinness just perfect. I go every year for my traditional St. Patricks day meal Corned beef and cabbage. The corn beef is prepared perfect and the cabbage and carrots and potatoes are delicious with a nice pint of Guinness to follow. Their entertainment traditional Irish music rounds out your dining experience. I’ve had their house cheeseburger which is sublime and perfect fries. Today I tried the 2 Lamb Lollipops on a bed of arugula salad. Perfection. Followed by Brittanys suggestion a huge chocolate chip cookie in a warmed skillet topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with hot fudge with whip cream and cherry on top. With a hot cup of fresh coffee. Thank you Brittany it was delicious! If your looking for a chef that dreams up exotic combos to delight any ones appetite. Accompanied by a warm and friendly staff and atmosphere. Drop on down to CF McCarthys Canton gem of a place. ”
“ The best for Incredible Food and Service. We are there at least 2-3 x/week. It is as good as being at an upscale Boston Grille but in the burbs. Brittany and Emily are like family and Felix is so attentive. We luv everything about CF’s. The best power bowls ever and incredible burgers. The menu choices are super upscale. Definitely go there.
